Diamond Lake Race

February 25-26, 2023

Cascade Sled Dog Club partners with Pacific Sled Dog & Skijor Association to hold Diamond Lake Race in Southern Oregon during the last weekend of February. The following classes are offered at this race.

  • 8-dog mid-distance, 31 miles each day

  • 6-dog mid-distance, 15 miles each day

  • 8-dog sprint, 8 miles each day

  • 6-dog sprint, 6 miles each day

  • 4-dog sprint, 4 miles each day

  • Novice, 10 years and older unless pre-approved, 4 miles each day

  • Junior, 7-14 years old, 2 miles each day

  • Advanced Skijor, 6 miles each day

  • Recreational Skijor, 2 miles each day

  • Pee Wee, 100 yds Saturday ONLY

Entry Deadline: TBD, No date of race entries will be accepted

Estimated Start Times: Saturday & Sunday 9.30am (as determined by Race Marshall after Driver’s Meeting)

Bib Return: $5 included in entry, option to have it refunded upon return.

Race will be held at Diamond Lake Resort in the Umpqua National Forest, 350 Resort Dr, Diamond Lake, OR 97731, (541) 793-3333

Oregon Sno*Park permits are required for all vehicles. They are available at many businesses en route to the race site. Washington Sno*Park passes are no longer honored at Oregon Sno*Parks.

Weed Free Hay Requirement:

Weed-free hay is required by the Forest Service. Certificate must be on-hand at the event.

Age Requirements:

Racers must be 10 years or older unless pre-approved, except for Junior and Pee Wee classes. Junior racers must be between 7-14 years old, and have a parent sign a release.

Experienced drivers running the Novice class do not qualify for awards.

The closest accommodations are through Diamond Lake Resort - they offer pet friendly cabins as well as rooms on the lake.
