Mentoring Program

The members of the Cascade Sled Dog Club are committed to sharing our love of dogs, sledding, and other recreational dog sports such as skijoring with others. With that in mind, we have decided to act as mentors to anyone who is interested in learning more. The individuals below have offered their time and experience should anyone wish to contact them.

Luke and Jennifer White
We have been running dogs for about 8 years now. We originally started skijoring with our Malamute. We slowly accumulated more dogs and moved to Sandy from NW Portland in order to pursue our dog sledding passion. We now have 15 (or so) dogs and mainly focus on dog sledding. When there is no snow, we run our dogs pulling a quad and when the snow flies we are on the mountain.

We are a husband and wife team. My husband runs an 8 dog sprint and I run more of a mid-distance run with usually 6 dogs. We have two children - a 7 year old who will be starting to run her own team of dogs competing in the "Junior's" division running 1-2 dogs and we have a 6 month old baby who enjoys the view from a back pack when running the dogs.

We have Alaskan Huskies in our kennel (our Malamute has long since retired and enjoys front porch naps in the sun!). We love our dogs and love to run them with other dog people. We are always available for questions and insight into the dog sledding world - what a fun one it is!
