February's Message 02/08/2012
Here we are in February and Frog Lake finally has enough snow so we can run all the trails. If the snow holds we should have no problem with putting on Frog II. With all the cancelled races in January, Frog II should have a good turn out. Looking Forward to seeing everyone at Frog II and having a good time. Julie and I and all the dogs went to Eagle Cap Extreme sled dog race in Joseph Or. We had a great time there. The dogs and I took 5th place. The race is will organized and everyone in town supports the race. The race has lots of volunteers and officials from Alaska, Washington, Montana as well as Oregon. It's an exciting race to attend. -Tim Tim is interviewed on OPB. 01/26/2012

January Club Meeting 1/14/12 at 4:00pm 01/08/2012
If you're not traveling to race in the snow, come to the January potluck/meeting at Dan and Lindsay's. We'll talk about how training is going, and upcoming events. Add Comment Chemult cancelled 01/05/2012
Due to the lack of snow, and none forecasted, the Chemult Sled Dog Races scheduled for January 21-22, 2012 have been cancelled. January's Message 01/01/2012
So mother nature will not cooperate with us for Frog Lake #1. The trend seems to be we get a little bit of snow then the warm weather comes back. This weather pattern has not helped my training for this upcoming season. Today is January 1 and today was the first time I got to run the 14 miler 6 mid loop at Frog and I still was on an ATV. What is the difference between La Nina and El Nina they both mean a no/low snow year. Hopefully the long term forecast will come true and we will start getting more snow. Hopefully everyone's training is going as planned and you are on target for the races that you want to attend. Looking forward to putting on Frog Lake #2. I know the club will step up and put on another successful race. Pray for snow. Tim Frog 1 Race Cancelled. 12/31/2011
Due to the lack of snow, Frog 1 has been cancelled. If you've sent in you're entry fee, please contact Debbie Lyman or email us here December's Message 12/01/2011
I need to apologize for not getting out my president's message last month. I got carried away with the October training and forgot all about the President's message. Time just slips away. Hopefully everyone's training is going according to their plans. We are all looking forward to getting more snow. Personally I hope it happens soon. My dogs are going to get tired of using the 6 & 8 dog loops to get my 20 miles in training. Once the snow does start to pile up, the Mt. Hood Snowmobile Club will start grooming the trails. We need to keep in mind that the time and effort that it takes to keep the trails groomed is all done voluntarily. The Christmas Party and gift exchange will be a fun time for those that attend. Hope to see you all there. Happy Trails,Tim | |||||||
