The 2013 Musher of the Year Award went to Thad McCracken who ran a near perfect season. Thad's availability to assist and advise other mushers, as well as the top notch care he provides his dogs also contributed to him winning this award.

The 2013 Most Improved Team and Driver Award went to Geneva Lyon.  Geneva completed an extensive race circuit this season, and took her team from a "happy go lucky" group of dogs to a "happy go fast" team.  Geneva also is this year's PNC Skijor champion.

The 2013 Novice Musher of the Year Award went to Laura Maffei.  Laura carefully started her skijoring season with one malamute and ended it competing in several races with both of her dogs.

The Bob and Lee Hills Sportsmanship Award is presented to a musher that has demonstrated above and beyond good sportsmanship, both on and off the trail, and is presented in honor of founding members of the CSDC, Bob and Lee Hills.  This year's award was presented to both Dan Silvertree and Tim Curley.

The 2013 Member of the Year was awarded to Sharon Carpenter. Sharon was a major contributor in the CSDC's successful return to racing at Diamond Lake Resorts.

As we're all deep into our Fall Training (and hopefully soon deep into some snow!), the club has been getting a fair amount of interest from folks interested in the sport and we've welcomed a few new members this year.

It may be a good time to re-read our "Suggestions for Beginning Mushers" to make sure we're all doing right by our dogs, for their health and happiness!
